How China’s Golden Week will affect logistics and costs

Golden Week is a world-famous holiday in China, especially among logistics workers. On October 1, China celebrates National Day, the celebration of which continues throughout the next week and is accompanied by all kinds of festivals.   Despite the quarantine restrictions caused by COVID-19, this year’s celebration is planned in the usual format. Many Chinese logisticians, terminals and warehouses stop working during this period.   And, of course, this causes a rush and a desire to take away the goods before the start of the holiday week. It usually starts 3-4 weeks before the holiday itself. This means that already at the beginning of September there will be a change in freight rates due to a lack of seats on ships, a shortage of empty equipment and additional quarantine norms.   Three regions will feel it the most: North America, Asia Pacific and Northern Europe. The rest of the regions will face fewer difficulties, but still feel some difficulties during this holiday period for China.   The last quarter of such a difficult and eventful year promises to be no less difficult, but knowing the necessary information and planning will help you avoid unnecessary difficulties with the delivery of your goods. Our company will always help with planning and delivery, providing the best service and providing the most optimal solutions for your cargo.
